CTET is must for CBSE affiliated schools

Aspiring teachers for CBSE affiliated schools must clear CTET

The National Council for Teachers’ Education (NCTE) has made it mandatory for all CBSE and government schools like Kendriya Vidyalaya and Navodaya among others to appoint only those teachers who clear the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) which is the entrance test for joining the elementary teaching profession. Earlier, elementary school teachers were recruited on the basis of their B Ed degree.

Candidates with a minimum score of 60% in the CTET will be eligible for applying for schools falling under the purview of this rule.

Not just fresher candidates, those who have been in the teaching line for a long time will also have to appear in the test because if they want to change the institute they are teaching in, they will require CTET scores for joining the new school or even for applying there.
Every teacher will have to take up the test every seven years to ensure that they are abreast with the latest developments in the field of school education.
CTET has been conducted total of two times till date. (June 2011, and Jan 2012)
